Mt. Perry Baptist Church was built in the late 1800’s and is still in existence today. One of the church’s most memorable and horrific events which brought the national spotlight on this little church was the Moore’s Ford Bridge Lynching in July of 1946 which involved the lynching of 2 young African American couples died in the lynching and are buried here in the cemetery. The white flags are meant to be a memorial to the lives of those victims who were lynched.

Mt. Perry Baptist Church is embarking on a Fundraising Campaign to raise the capital to construct The Haven which is a project that will involve the creation of an event venue which has three distinct focus areas: The Cottages of The Haven, The Haven Event Venue and The Haven Community Park.  All three of these areas will be located on one site and nestled in a rustic setting in Bostwick Georgia. which will become a Sanctuary for Churches, Christian Organizations, Civic Organizations, and members of the Community. We believe this site will become the heart of this community. We need your support!
