A Succesful Fundraising Starts with a K.I.S.S.

One of the fundamentals in marketing your brick campaign is using the
acronym K.I.S.S which is an acronym for Keep It Super Simple

Conducting a marketing campaign that will ensure you great results for your engraved brick fundraiser needs to be simple.


1. Set clearly defined goals for your brick fundraiser

What are you looking to accomplish? How much money do you need to raise to reach this goal? How many engraved bricks do you need to sell to meet your goal?

2. Identify your brick donors

Who are your benefactors? Are the contributors members of your organization or are they members of your community? Knowing who your donors are will help to know where you should be advertising.

3. Create a timeline of events

This should include your deadlines including cut off dates for taking brick orders from your donors and customers. Dates of installation of both blank bricks and engraved bricks. Marketing Campaign efforts such as sending out mailers, email blasts, ads in newspapers or magazines. Events that are being attended where you will be presenting your brick campaign to the public.

4. Branding

Creating a short simple catchphrase for your brick project can help get you more sales. Big companies often use catch phrases, tag lines and slogans in marketing to create brand recognition.

“Just Do It” Nike, and McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” are a few examples.

Some catchy brick campaigns will often refer to “buy a brick”, “brick for bucks”, or “pave the way”.

Finding a unique catchphrase for your brick engraving campaign will help you stand out from the competition.

Make sure you include your logo on all marketing materials. A logo will help with brand recognition and will help your donors immediately recognize your organization or company.

5. Consistency

Repeating a message or visual queue creates brand recognition. Often it takes several exposures to a brand or product before a potential donor or customer will make a purchase. Have you ever done an online search on your computer and then you see 5 or 6 ads for the product you just looked up? This technique of marketing is called remarketing and is not a coincidence at all.
