Dear Friends,
This July will mark the 11th year that Baked! has been serving hot cookies and cold milk. Some of you have been getting Baked with us since the very beginning, when we were slinging cookies at Tenth & College. For others of you, today was the first time you ever got Baked. We are writing y’all because we have some very exciting news to share with you, and we need your help.
Baked has steadily outgrown each of its homes as it has gotten older. Right now, there is simply nowhere for us to expand. Staying at East Third Street would eventually force us to remove the customer area to expand the kitchen. We decided that wasn’t an option.
After an intense search process, we finally found our space: 115 N Washington Street. You might remember the space as the old Sullivan’s Fashions For Men store. With any luck, the store will be ready in July 2017.
That’s our exciting news, and here’s where we need your help: when we get the store, it will be a plain white box. Unfortunately, between paying our employees as much as we can afford, keeping our product quality up, and our prices low, we don’t have enough free cash to both renovate the new store and feed our workers.
We came up with two options. In option one, we take out a line of credit to build the new store, and raise our process to pay off the debt.
Option two: Have you ever said to yourself, “Gosh, I wish there was a way I could permanently show everybody just how much I love getting Baked!” Well now there is. We are going to show our love for Baked! to the world by engraving our names into tiles for the interior of Baked. And we want you to join us. We want to engrave your message into Baked’s new home. Just as we plan on staying at this location for, at least the rest of our lifetimes, we want your name to grace our interior for many years to come. Our unexpected move will cost nearly $75,000. We're going to sell each tile for $100 to fund as much of this move as possible. We’ll even throw in a free Hot Box for every tile you buy.
So what do you say? Are you willing to add your names to ours? Email us at [email protected] and we’ll send you some more information about how to get your own piece of Baked! history.
Enjoy the weather, enjoy Bloomington, and don’t forget, we love you.
Jared, Jason and Jeremy
