There is a space for you at Charlie’s House.
Charlie’s House Brick-By-Brick Program supports
building stronger programs to help keep kids safe.
You can be part of our future as we advance our mission to keep children safe. The Brick-By-Brick program is a way to immortalize your commitment to Charlie’s House and support the operations of the organization. Join others, individuals and organizations, who have purchased a brick to memorialize someone special in their life or show their support for friends and family.
There is a place for you at Charlie’s House. Located on Hospital Hill, part of the landscape at Charlie’s House Safety Demonstration Home is a memorial garden and courtyard area. Those visiting Charlie’s House will have the opportunity to sit and enjoy the grounds and view the city background. Your support ensures the growth of Charlie’s House mission by increasing awareness of safety education and injury prevention.
In November 2007, Charlie
Horn, a 2-year-old Kansas
City boy, lost his life when he attempted to climb a 30″ dresser in his home.
Through this tragedy, Charlie’s House was born. Since the beginning, the
mission has remained steadfast: to prevent accidents and injuries to children in and around the home. The
vision from inception was to build a simulation home. Through generous
donations. the vision was fulfilled and the nation’s first Safety Demonstration
Home is complete. Parents and caregivers will be able to visit and learn how to
make their own homes safe. Along with the safety demonstration areas, Charlie’s
House features a community room, which will be a crucial component for
classroom education, parenting classes, safety seminars and more.
