BEAUTIFICATIONS OF AMOS’ GARDEN
Soon after the completion of the current sanctuary in December of 1991 the area between the two buildings was named Amos’ Garden.
The name was inspired by The United Methodist Women of the church after having a class taught by Hildred Schloss on the Book of Amos.
Hildred was a member of UMW and faithfully tended the garden for many years.
In an effort to resurrect the garden and bring attention to our buried time capsule we are giving our members and friends the opportunity to be a part of the Memorial Garden Beautification Project.
As an addition to our time capsule which was buried on Sunday January 5, 2014 and will be opened exactly 50 years from that date on Sunday January 6, 2064, we are adding brick pavers to honor, celebrate, and/or remember past, present, and future happenings.
These brick pavers will bring a lasting and pleasing serenity to our small but beautiful garden.
This project is dedicated to the continuing beautification of
our church and it surroundings.
