The name of our fundraiser is going to be "Brick the Brewery". As you may have noticed, last summer we created a garden space. This space was named The Clonts Memorial Urban Farm at Coldwater Mountain Brewpub.
This is in memory of Matthew Clonts, a lifelong Annistonian, with a creative vision and a champion's heart for the city he called home. Matthew held several titles but was always involved whether it be a concert series, or a spirited game of pickleball, he always brought smiles and laughs everywhere he went.
At the Brewpub, we've decided to let the
proceeds from The Garden pay for two scholarships a year for Youth Leadership
Calhoun County in Matthew's name. This will be in perpetuity, so that his
legacy will live on forever.
The path that leads to the heart of the
Urban Farm is known as the Secret Garden, a place for fellowship and
reflection. All are encouraged to take the walk, and as we "brick the
brewery", these bricks and pavers with your memories, logos, pictures, etc.,
will "lead the way!"
The walkway heads from the heart of the
urban farm to the door of the Brew pub. We can't think of a better way to honor
Matthew than the continued growth of fresh produce feeding our community, and
now a proper path to the very heart of this space.
