My name is Grace VandenBerghe. I am 17
years old and a senior at Oxford High School, where I am a member of the High
School Equestrian Team. I have also been a member of the Lapeer &
Oakland County 4-H for 15 years showing in the horse, and swine. Outside of
school and 4-H, I have been actively involved in Scouts BSA for 4 ½ years. I am
currently a Life Scout with Troop 131G in Dryden, Michigan and will be the
first female in our area working on their eagle project.
For my Eagle Scout Service Project is to
benefit the Village of Dryden, and the community, and the surrounding area.
As part of my project I plan on installing at a minimum of a new border, swing
set, and new footing. The cost of this part of the project is approximately
$6900. If additional funds are raised I would like to install two benches, a
play structure with slides, and other playground equipment. The total cost for
the full project is $21,500. In addition to starting a Go Fund Me, I am also
applying for grants through Lapeer County Community Foundation, and doing a
golf outing, and plan to present my plan at our county’s local Kiwanis Chapter.
I am hoping to start my project in June 2024. Any donation is greatly appreciated. If I exceed my goal any extra funds will be donated back to the Village of Dryden.
