East Greenwich Animal
Protection League has served the community of East Greenwich since 1977. We are
a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue and practice a no-kill model. The rescue
recognized the desperate need to help with the overpopulation of dogs and cats
in the Southern states about 10 years ago. Our primary focus is transporting
dogs and cats that would otherwise be euthanized and ready them for adoption
into loving homes.
The cost to have a dog or
cat released into a quarantine facility, the boarding of that animal, medical
fees, transporting them to Rhode Island as well as providing food, shelter and
enrichment do not come cheap and we very often spend much more than what is
asked from an adoption fee. This has left us with little money to renovate our
new building.
Earlier this year we were
so fortunate to have the assistance from Dr. Martin to purchase a building in
Cranston, Rhode Island. The building is just a shell at present but our dream
of turning it into a comfortable place where animals can feel safe before
finding their forever home is so close to a reality. The bricks and tiles
purchased by you will stand as a testament of charity for years to come as
thousands of hopeful adopters walk through our doors to unite with their new
family member.
