The mission of Empower Dance is to provide a space that nurtures and fosters natural beauty, instills self-confidence, and reinforces positive images of dancers from all backgrounds.

Empower Dance is poised as an arts-based business that is making a sustainable impact on the community.

We are aiming to implement two new programs next year!  To do this we plan to expand the current studio space and we need your help!

1.       M-Power: An initiative for Men and Boys to provide opportunities for safe space, exposure to dance, and remove the stigma associated with male dancers; specialized programming for male dancers

2.       Ballet Initiative a ballet school within Empower subsidize the cost of ballet training for underrepresented dancers.

You can invest in the vision, by purchasing a personalized engraved brick.

An engraved brick can be in honor of your family, business, favorite dancer, and/or in memory of a loved one.  The engraved bricks will be on display in the studio on the exposed brick wall.

Please contact us at [email protected] for more information about a scholarship dancer you would like to sponsor!

Thank you for your support!

Empower Dance was founded in June 2015 by High School Dance Teacher, Nicole Oxendine and former student Jessica Burroughs. As we witnessed an increased desire for dance in their community we decided to step out on faith and create a studio where FAITH EMPOWERS MOVEMENT. We are excited to share our love and passion for dance! Our home base is in the heart of Downtown Durham!  We are expanding and will grow into a larger space and eventually to different cities! We aim to increase our classes and sessions in all ages with more hours becoming available for our current faculty to educate even more aspiring dancers.
