Friends of Mollicone Park

Help to reactivate a historic neighborhood park on Detroit’s eastside with your purchase of a commemorative brick.

Since 2016, Friends of Mollicone Park has been working in collaboration with the City of Detroit, as well as residents of Indian Village, West Village, East Village, Pingree Park, Islandview and beyond to create an ADA-friendly park. Plans include the addition of benches, a meeting mound, picnic tables, playground and a quarter mile walking path.

By reactivating the park, we honor Thomas J. Mollicone. Thomas was awarded the Silver Star while serving in the 95th infantry during WWII. He was a beloved son, brother and friend who embodied what it meant to be a good neighbor with his generosity and light spirit. Sadly, Thomas never made it back home to the Villages following the war and is missed by family and the community he so happily served.

Purchasing a brick is a great way to honor a loved one and help the Friends of Mollicone Park in creating a greater community gathering space for the Villages and beyond.
