Rising to the Asbury Challenge, I have decided to devote my Eagle Scout Project to help beautify the exterior of Asbury United Methodist Church, to make it more welcoming and inviting to encourage growth, and to ensure safety for the community members it serves. As part of this effort, I will lead a team of volunteers to install an engraved brick pathway to personalize and beautify the grounds.
How can you help?
Please consider purchasing a brick!
These 8” x 8” personalized bricks will be laser engraved with the inscription of your choice (up to 6 lines, up to 20 characters per line including spaces) for $50. Add a clip art or logo if you choose for only $10 more (choose from those provided or upload your own!). These tribute bricks are perfect for honoring your family name, celebrating a precious memory, or memorializing a loved one. This brick will forever leave your legacy at Asbury United Methodist Church while helping raise funds to make other aspects of the exterior project possible.
The reasons for purchasing a tribute brick are limitless, but here are a few ideas:
- Remember a loved one:
~ a lost family member, friend, or church member
~ a lost military member
~ a lost pet
- Celebrate a precious memory:
~ your child’s Asbury preschool, high school, or college graduation
~ the birth or adoption of a child
~ an anniversary
~ an important birthday
- Honor your family name:
~ as members of the church
~ as supporters of scouting
~ as supporters of Gavin’s Eagle Project
The tribute bricks will be displayed as a sidewalk, so that in the years to come, you will be able to bring your children and grandchildren to see your name and theirs as a permanent legacy at Asbury United Methodist Church.
What a great way to be remembered or to honor and celebrate a loved one!
The Tribute Walk, and the project it helps fund, will benefit AUMC and its members, Asbury Preschool children and families, the Duke University East Campus students and community members who utilize the parking lot and walking path, and the surrounding neighborhood and community.
I welcome any donation in addition to or in lieu of a brick purchase, and will recognize additional donations of $100.00 or more with an engraved metal plate permanently attached to a section of the large wooden hexagonal bench that I’m building around the beautiful willow tree at Asbury.
Please donate here and/or order your brick below.
Please contact me, Gavin Pennuto, with questions or to make a donation by March 10, 2013.
I can be reached in person after each service, by phone at 919-237-2467, or by email at [email protected].
Thank you very much for your support!
