My name is Alexis, and I am a Cadette Girl Scout (8th Grade). I am working with the Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post 954 in Churchville, NY to make a flag retirement pit for their Flag Day ceremony for my silver award. My troop has been part of their flag retirement ceremony for the last several years, and they just use a metal bin, and I thought it would be nice if they had a better fire pit for this ceremony.
The fire pit will be used to burn the flags as a
proper send-off. As part of the design of this fire pit, there will be bricks
that can be engraved with veteran names. Now is your chance to honor your
favorite vet by purchasing a brick to be engraved with their information.
Proceeds from the sale of bricks will be used to fund the entire project.
