Help Beautify Glendora National Fields “Brick by
Brick”
FACTS –
• Glendora National Little League (GNLL) is a non-profit
organization.
• GNLL operates at just above a “break-even” when
you consider all the costs and expenses needed to run a league with approximately
300 kids.
o Funding from the school district is limited to
basic grass mowing and emergency repairs.
Getting the fields “baseball-ready” is the sole responsibility of GNLL.
Bottom line is we get literally ZERO financial or maintenance assistance
from the School, District or City. Any upkeep or enhancements to our
fields or facilities come from donations and fund raising by the league and the
countless volunteers.
The good news is we control our own destiny. We had a tremendous
success with recent fundraising efforts and were able to do the following:
ü
Remodel the Snack Bar
(complete)
ü
New backstops for the A,
AA, and AAA fields (installation January 2019)
In 2019 we are now moving on towards the “aesthetics” of all our fields
(Teeball, A, AA, AAA and Majors). With the outfield and infields being in
great shape due to volunteer efforts we are now looking to add countless others
improvements such as:
•
Lighting for Major Field
•
Lighting for the Batting
Cages
•
Upgrade or replace the scoreboards
in the Major and AAA fields
•
Upgrade or replace the
aging bleachers (including shade)
•
Upgrading the dugouts
•
Upgrade the batting
cages
•
New fencing to the AA
field
•
Plus countless others
based upon the feedback from GNLL parents
Our goal is starting a brick fundraising campaign that will last
for a minimum 3 years that should generate approximately $90,000. The bricks will start being installed in
front of the Snack Bar in January 2019 by volunteers.
Each brick will be $125 each and an example is pictured below:
