Hinsdale Middle School

On September 14th, 1976, forty-five years ago, the Committee for Art in Hinsdale raised funds to purchase and install an outdoor steel sculpture. This large-scale blue sculpture, called the Windhover, was placed on the grounds of the Hinsdale Junior High School and was dedicated to D181 students past, present, and future. Created by the renowned artist, Robert Murray, the Windhover is nationally recognized with an official registration with the Smithsonian Institute. Over time, the sculpture has endured scraped paint, paint blisters, graffiti, and rust. However, you and others in our community have answered the call to repair this unique work of art!

Thank you for helping to restore the Windhover to its former beauty.
