OUR CHURCH FACILITIES AND BUILDING PROJECT
It has been the dream of our church, since the beginning, to have our own sanctuary where we can freely worship our Lord Jesus Christ and serve the community. For ten years, we’ve been renting and saving money to acquire our own temple. The journey has been long and we can now see the fruit of our work. God has allowed us to buy a piece of land in an influential area. This is something the Lord revealed us even before the founding of Iglesia Cristiana Shekinah.
The lot is located at the Cinco Ranch-Katy area at the intersection of Saddlespur Lane and Westheimer. It is a 3.77-acre lot and it is located in an area where there are already various other Christian churches; however, ours will be the only Hispanic church. The architectural design is very advanced. We are raising funds for the construction of our facilities. The first phase will cost $2,000,000, the second $750,000, and the third $150,000. We are confident that it is God’s will that we build this sanctuary to serve his purpose. The goal of our current fund raising campaign is to collect $500,000 by June 2017 to payoff the land loan.
God uses different resources to carry out his work and you can be one of them. If you feel God is calling you to help us with a donation for the new facilities, feel free to send it to: Iglesia Cristiana Shekinah; 22101 Morton Ranch Rd, Katy, TX 77449
General Plan
Phase 1: We have felt from God not only to build a sanctuary, but also built a multi-purpose building to combine different ministries to serve the community. The first phase is the sanctuary with offices, classrooms and an affordable Christian day care center for the community for children up to 3 years of age.
Phase 2: This phase will consist in expanding the day care into a pre-school with focus on Christian Education. Also, we will build classrooms for a “Worshipers Academy” where children and youth will be taught singing and how to play instruments, with a Christian and ministerial focus to form future worshipers. Other classrooms will be used for the operation of a “Biblical Institute” where we will form tomorrow’s leaders and pastors.
Phase 3: This phase will consist of a construction of a warehouse to develop the “911 Ministry”. The purpose of this ministry is to provide community services and to network with other donating organizations.
The facilities will also have recreation spaces to play sports such as basketball and soccer and areas for BBQ, café and plenty of parking.
The sanctuary will have a capacity for 477 people with offices, classrooms for Christian education, kitchen, fellowship hall and dining room, sports facilities for the youth and much more.
We want to be a welcoming church to all the families in the area and minister to all their needs.
