The Iron County Medical Care Facility is located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and has been in operation since the early 1900’s. For years the citizens of Iron County have played a major role in helping to bring this facility from 109-beds in 1976 to a 200-bed facility in 2005. The future of our facility is in many ways tied to the generosity of the individuals closest to it. Iron County Medical Care Facility has a rich history of providing the highest quality of skilled nursing care with a staff committed to giving compassionate care to each resident. The facility’s Memory Care Unit is state of the art, and is fully staffed with employees certified in dementia care. The short-term rehab (Skyway) is another of our newest additions and offers inpatient and outpatient services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
We are very fortunate to have the support of the “Foundation in Support of the Iron County Medical Care Facility”, which works with the facility in identifying projects that will benefit the residents of the Iron County Medical Care Facility. One of those projects is that of having a pavilion constructed on-site, which would allow for outdoor activities such as barbeques, monthly parties, group activities, or just a place to go to for fresh air and visiting time with family members. The projected cost of the pavilion, which is large in size to accommodate a large number of residents, is approximately $135,000.00.
One of the Foundation fundraisers is that of a brick sale, whereby one can purchase a brick for $50.00 (4"x8" text only), or $150.00 (8"x8" text only), including engraving (refer to order form for additional options relative to logo and/or clipart). The goal of the Foundation is to raise enough money in 2015 in order to begin construction in 2016. The bricks purchased will outline the main walkway to the pavilion, which will be located on the South side of the facility.
**All bricks purchased are tax deductible!**
