In an effort to create an outdoor learning environment, Three Rivers School is seeking support for the development of a Discovery Area. It is well accepted that students learn best through self-discovery,and that education takes place well beyond the walls of a school.
Outdoor learning is associated with health and wellness and provides the opportunity for students to explore and interact with the natural world, and in doing so, gain integrated knowledge that will serve the students and the community well.
Three Rivers School’s mission is to support
students to attain their full potential as individuals and learners, and
this exciting project supports that goal.
An outdoor classroom, a New Hampshire woodland habitat area, exercise circuit stations,
a garden and dry stream bed areas
and progressive play equipment for recreation and exploration will transform the traditional
schoolyard into an inspiring outdoor space to be utilized by students and
enjoyed by the entire community.
