THE STAR COMPLEX STORY

The STAR Complex is a united vision of Boy Scout Troop 415 and St. Luke United Methodist Church made possible by the generosity of Ms. Helen Wentworth. The STAR Complex is a place where boys, girls, and young adults can go to enjoy scouting and outdoor activities, learn about nature, or walk along the wooded trail.

The STAR Complex hopes to build stronger relationships among youth organizations within our community through shared use of its facility and grounds. Upon completion, the STAR Complex will consist of a meeting and training facility, campsite area, nature trail, group campfire area, covered pavilion, and an outdoor chapel.

Scouting and youth ministries teach our youth to lead, be responsible, and give back to our community through projects and service. Through belief, unity, and teamwork, the STAR Complex will strengthen our youth by bringing them back to nature, allowing them to “unplug” and “reset” their minds. Your support will help provide a safe place for our youth to learn and experience the beauty of nature. It will help provide a place where scouts and youth ministries can learn teamwork, how to be prepared, and how to be respectful and reverent, so they can be better leaders and citizens of our community.

The purchase of a 4"x 8" or 12"x 12" personalized brick allows you to custom engrave a tangible and lasting memory with you or your family's name, your Scout or youth ministries name, or your organization or company's name. It can also include or exclusively be a logo or clip art of your choice from the available clip art designs, or you can send in a custom logo from your organization or business. For years to come, you will be able to bring your children and grandchildren to the STAR Complex and see your brick memorialized as a permanent legacy. Your commemorative brick will be an ongoing tribute to your Scout, youth ministry, family, or organization. It is a wonderful way to give back to your community and remember loved ones, honor those who serve, or announce or celebrate a special memory or occasion.
