Michael G. Spencer Memorial Prayer Garden
In 1992 the area located in the courtyard-like
setting outside the breezeway from the front entrance of the church was
dedicated to honor Michael G. Spencer, son of Gladys Spencer. Michael was
a loving and faithful servant of the Lord here at Tower from his childhood
until the day he died at age 33 from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. His legacy
continues today as his testimony has touched the lives of so many people, not
only in Ohio, but other parts of the country as well.
We would like for that area to be a benefit to
the entire church, by being a place where you can leave a lasting memorial to a
loved one, past or present, a tribute to someone special, or to commemorate a
special event in your life. It will be The Michael G. Spencer Memorial Prayer
Garden…a place of solace where you can sit and pray, meditate, or just relax in
God’s Presence. It will consist of a stepping stone walkway, benches,
flowerbeds, and beautifully crafted laser-engraved bricks. Not only will the
garden add beauty to our entrance, but will also serve as a visual history of
our church.
