Help us
Build the Falcon Legacy Park at Fort Bragg
The 325th
Airborne Infantry Regiment Association is actively raising funds for the design
and construction of a permanent park to honor those who gave their lives in
service to our nation. Since its activation in 1917, the 2nd Brigade Combat
Team (2BCT) and the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment have lost 920 Falcon
Soldiers, Glidermen, and Paratroopers in combat. Despite this extraordinary
sacrifice, there is nothing on Fort Bragg dedicated to honor them. The
unveiling is planned for All American Week 2026, during the Regimental Picnic.
The returns
from your brick purchase will be used to fundraise for the park. Additionally,
your brick will be placed in the ground of the park pictured below. Of
note, this depiction of the park is not a final concept, and the design may
change as we continue refining the design. Rest assured, your brick will
be incorporated into the park.
Park Design
and Features
The
proposed design centers around an obelisk topped with a metal Falcon, flanked
by two marble panels representing the Regiment’s service in past conflicts and
operations. The obelisk will include the Regiment’s activation dates and
insignia, and will bear the following inscription:
“In
Honor and Memory of Falcon Soldiers, Glidermen, and Paratroopers who have given
their lives for the cause of freedom.”
Additionally,
we plan to make the following improvements to Glider Field — the site for
Change of Command and Responsibility ceremonies:
- Releveling
and repaving the sidewalk
- Landscaping
with trees and flowers
- Repairs
to the surrounding fence
A
large-format print of PFC Vernon Haught at the Battle of the Bulge, along with
his legendary quote, "I'm the 82nd Airborne, and this is as far as the
bastards are going," will also be displayed on the side of Brigade
Headquarters.
