Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame
Customized Memorial Brick Pavers Fundraiser

The Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame is a 501c (3) not-for-profit organization established in 2013 to “publically emphasize the honor brought to our state and nation by the sacrifice of Indiana military veterans and their families.”

Located on the grounds of historic Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis on prime property ceded to the IMVHOF by The American Legion, Department of Indiana, the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame is under construction and due for dedication on September 23, 2017. Major funding was provided by corporate sponsors and individual donors.

Phase II of the fund-raising effort is now underway. The sale of memorial brick pavers provides veterans and their families an opportunity to commemorate their military service as part of the grand entryway and plaza fronting the memorial. No construction funds will be used for the paver project. The long term vision for the memorial includes the paver plaza and a memorial grove – a park-like setting suitable for remembering and reflecting on the service and sacrifice of the Hoosier veterans commemorated at the Hall of Fame.

On April 25, 2013, the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana Senate recognized the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame organization – making Indiana one of only a handful of states to have established similar organizations.

The inaugural class of the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame was inducted in 2014.  Honoring the service of the inductees in either their military careers or post-military endeavors, the honorees came from all corners of the state and reflected contributions made by military veterans from World War II through the current engagements in the Middle East and elsewhere.

On February 11, 2016, the inaugural class was further honored during the Second Regular Session of the 119th General Assembly of the State of Indiana when State Representatives John L. Bartlett, James R. Baird, Karlee D. Macer, State Senators Luke Kenley III, James E. Banks and Lonnie M. Randolph introduced and adopted by voice vote House Concurrent Resolution No. 32. And on January 11, 2016 the Indiana General Assembly introduced and adopted by voice vote House Concurrent Resolution No. 2 honoring the 2015 Indiana Military Hall of Fame inductees.

The Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame (IMVHOF) broke ground on a permanent building on September 11, 2016, on ground near the American Legion’s Department of Indiana Headquarters in Lawrence. The building will pay tribute to all five branches of the military services and recognize veterans who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The IMVHOF has partnered with Indiana Credit Unions to raise funds for construction and plans to begin building this spring.

Tax deductible donations can be made via check or money order made payable to IMVHOF and sent to IMVHOF, P.O. Box 269098, Indianapolis, IN 46226.  Online donations can also be made at www.imvhof.com.

Bricks are $75 now through September 15 which guarantees a spot in the prominent inner circle of bricks. This campaign will end on September 15 thereafter bricks will be sold at first come-first serve at $100 a piece.
