As part of Conor McCormick’s an Eagle Scout project, we are relocating our bell tower that houses the church bell from St. Paul’s Slovak Lutheran Church that was given to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer on April, 4 1993. It is currently located in the rear of the sanctuary and will be moved to the front lawn near our chapel. The relocation will provide better access to ring the bell for worship and other appropriate times in the life of the church and will showcase this beautiful piece of church history. In the process of planning the project we had to determine what we use for the base around the bell tower in its new location. The idea was brought forth to have a memorial brick area surrounding the bell tower in order that the proceeds may help defray the cost of the project. The memorial bricks also provide a way for the donors to honor loved ones or former members by having a brick engraved in that person’s honor or memory. This project will help honor that past - both of the bell and the people associated with congregation.
