The Alpha Xi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization committed to the constructive development of its members, and to public service with a primary focus on the black community. In 2014, the chapter organized a brick fundraiser campaign to brick in the walkway leading up to the pyramid bench and use the funds raised to promote academic excellence by providing a scholarship to deserving students at South Carolina State University. Due to the overwhelming response to the initial fundraiser, Alpha Xi was able to reach the goal and establish not one, but TWO scholarships! The scholarships are as follows:
• The Torch of Wisdom Scholarship for the academic development of its’ members.
• The Loyal Sons and Daughters Scholarship for the academic development of South Carolina State’s students.
In order to continue the chapter’s efforts of providing scholarships to its members and students who currently attend South Carolina State University, the brick fundraiser is now an ongoing project.
