Join the Crew of the USS BREMERTON Monument at Navy League Park.
The heavy cruiser USS BREMERTON (CA 130), built during World War II, was named after the city of Bremerton won a war bond drive, earning the right to have a cruiser named for it. The cruiser USS BREMERTON (CA 130) served for almost 12 years in commissioned service including World War II and the Korean War.
The submarine USS
BREMERTON (SSN 698) was the second ship named after the city of Bremerton.
During her service the USS BREMERTON (SSN 698) conducted numerous deployments
and operations vital to national security. Adopted and supported by the city of
Bremerton and the Bremerton Olympic Peninsula Council of the Navy League, USS
BREMERTON (SSN 698) visited its namesake many times over its 40 year career and
was decommissioned in Bremerton in 2021.
Thousands of
Sailors served as members of both USS BREMERTON’s crews. The USS
BREMERTON Monument at Navy League Park is being built to recognize the
importance of those who served on the USS BREMERTONs, the shipyard that cared
for them, and the City of Bremerton who supported them.
