Following Nehemiah's lead in chapter 2 of the book which carries his name; nothing is more important than building and reaching lives of our college aged students for Christ and creating a safe, comfortable and functional place where they can learn about God and grow in their faith. The renovations to the TriC have been a part of Britt's vision for a long time and has an added benefit of a reorganized kitchen, increase storage and a new fenced in patio. This project will require funds to be generated throughout the year and all are urged to contribute.
The Elders of Chandler Street Church of Christ in
partnership with other congregations and the Campus Minister purpose to serve the Lord by
bringing the truth of the Gospel message to the Kilgore College community including its students,
faculty, staff and all who come in contact with the ministry.
In doing so, we purpose to
use the Christian Campus Center as a resource to provide a clean, comfortable and safe place for
students to study, fellowship and to prepare for the works of service to build up the body of
Christ and to strive for a unity of faith by increasing our knowledge of the son of God so we may
mature as many Christians.
“Let us ARISE and
Build”
Here at the TriC I like to think of this building as a” place to come
home to.”
For me, it’s about family and friends: the family of God where everyone in this
community is invited to become a part of this family. I am especially sensitive to the
importance of our students here on the Kilgore College campus. Reach young people, you shape
and save, reach young people, you create strong and faithful adults.
This project with an
expanded kitchen will not only provide more space for the growing number we serve, but it will
provide a greater ease in our opportunities to execute all our meal services. The outdoor patio
will provide a clean safe and relaxing area for students to study or enjoy fellowship. The storage
area speaks for itself. I am incredibly excited about this project to begin. Let us start right
now with prayer. One prayer we should all pray is: “Lord, what do you want to do through me to
make this dream come true?”
I ask that you pray about what you can contribute to help meet this need.
You can consider leaving a legacy by purchasing bricks that will be used in the new back patio area.
Laser engraved concrete bricks
Bricks 4" by 8" - Students,
friends and family $100 up to 20 spaces, 3 lines
If you would like to
have a 4” by 4” Replica Tile with the same inscription as your brick, you can purchase one for
$15.00
The project will be completed before the fall semester in time for an open house celebration in September 2014.
