FOWLER KS FUNDRAISER
Fowler is blessed
& lucky to have this pool. The circular design is unique & perfect! So
many happy memories spent there over many, many summers... I'm sure every
school kid can agree. Our Alumni are very fond of this pool and while some
still live in our community, there are others that come back and love to swim
in the City Pool again!
The Fowler Swimming
Pool & Bathhouse, located at 308 E. 6th in Fowler, Kansas, was built in
1936 by the Works Progress Administration, a New Deal work program. It includes
an oval pool & bathhouse designed in Modern style architecture. It was
listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. This is quite an
honor!!
Upgrades and repairs
are very necessary! The surface of the pool needs repaired, the whole system needs
to be changed, and the filters are grossly antiquated and must be made modern
day compliant. Drains, valves, and pumps are in constant disrepair and will not
make another season!
We are applying for a
Grant as the Fowler City Pool is listed on the National Register of Historic
places! The Grant cannot be applied for until November. We believe in the power
of fundraising. Whereas we may not be able to do it all individually, together
we can do so much!
