
Dow City, Iowa, is
a rural farming community with about 500 residents. On July 9, 2013, Dennis Ohl was killed in a
tractor roll-over accident. He was a Vietnam Veteran, volunteered for the Dow City-Arion Fire &
Rescue Department and served on the local community board for many years. Dennis
gave.
His family and friends are working
with the City to turn this tragedy into something positive for our community. Currently, families
have to travel to other communities to swim. Together, we hope to build a splash pad or simple
water feature in our park that offers children and families a safe, local place to play during the
hot summer months.
To help raise money for the Splash Pad, the
community is selling bricks that will be used to pave the path to the water feature. Sizes and
prices are listed below.
