The Village School

About the Mural Project:
Help us recognize our 25th Anniversary with a new mural to cover the south wall of our courtyard. Our vision/theme for the mural is to capture in a big epic flowing "Diego Rivera" style of the "9 Year Arc" of the Village School Experience, spanning kindergarten to 8th grade. The mural would feature

· "rites of passage" from each of the grades such as the Rose Ceremony in 1st grade, raising salmon in 4th grade, Greek Games in 5th grade, and Shakespeare in 8th grade,

· activities from specialty classes

· iconic events like the Walk-a-Thon, Dia de los Muertos and May Day.

The artist, Kari Johnson, has done several impressive and noteworthy murals around town. The artworks shown represent samples of her work projected onto the south wall of the courtyard. Funds will be raised to prepare the space and compensate the artist.

About the Commemorative Tile Fundraiser:

The Space for the commemorative tiles will be right next to the entrance to the Commons, protected from the rain, and just to the west of the new mural. Students will see the recognition tiles daily as they go the Commons for lunch, the library or their classes in the Middle School.
