Over the
last year and a half we have been working very diligently with the city getting
approval for a spot to place a splash pad.
After visiting the pad in Morgan Utah I thought what a great thing for
kids to do in the summer! The range of
kids at the splash pad were 6 months old to adults playing in it. It was great
parents could sit and watch and the kids could have the freedom to play in the
water without risk.
The splash
pad will be an asset to Evanston not just an expense. I can’t tell how many times I have seen or
heard parents from Evanston and surrounding communities who have traveled out
of area to visit splash pads. When they
go they are buying lunch, drinks, ice cream and spending money in other
communities that could be revenue that stays locally.
After getting approval we have had a few fundraising events to raise enough to install a pad for our community. We have currently raised about $18,000.00 with and additional $10,000.00 pledged but not collected. We are asking for any contribution to our fundraising efforts to get another amenity for our great community and attract more people to stay locally and spend locally as well as have something for children to do in the summer.
