Engraved pavers available to honor those who served in new Glenwood Veterans Memorial Courtyard

Glenwood
Historical Cemetery and Arboretum is not only the final resting place for many
of Flint and Genesee County’s pioneers, founders, and most influential
citizens, but will soon be the home of a Veterans Memorial Courtyard.
Serving
as a gateway to Glenwood, the Veterans Memorial Courtyard will include various
plantings, a flagpole with lighting, and a retaining wall to flatten the
surface for the Memorial Patio. This
patio, the centerpiece of the courtyard, will consist of engravable pavers
where all members of the community can recognize someone or an organization
with a custom engraved brick paver.
Already listed on both the Michigan and
the National Register of Historic Places, Glenwood Historical Cemetery and
Arboretum is proud to be known as the place “where history is buried along the
banks of the Flint River.” However, no
history of the Flint and Genesee County area would be complete without
recognizing and paying homage to all of those who served, many making the
ultimate sacrifice. We hope you will
join us in this effort to make the courtyard a reality.
All proceeds will fund construction and
maintenance of the courtyard and support the mission to preserve, restore, and
enhance Glenwood Cemetery’s historical, cultural, and ecological significance
while creating a welcoming space for education, reflection, and community
engagement.
Our Buy a Brick donor website allows you to design and purchase a custom-made brick paver as an ideal way to commemorate:
