John W Inzer Museum Walk of Honor.

Each year the John W Inzer Museum, the St. Clair Camp 308 SVC, and the Ashville 1488 UDC retire used and battered flags – national, state, and confederate. The ashes are then buried at the Retired Flag Monument on the John W Inzer Museum grounds.  Also on the museum grounds is a monument placed by the Josiah Brunson Chapter, Birmingham Territory Chapter and the Broken Arrow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to honor American Revolutionary War soldiers who lived in the St. Clair County, Alabama area. There is also a statue of a Confederate soldier.

We are expanding our walkway of bricks at the monuments to honor any veteran who has fought in any war for this country – American Revolution, War of 1812, Mexican-American War, Spanish-American War, War Between the States, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Viet Nam War, Gulf Wars, War on Terror.  We wish to honor men and women who have served our country in the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, or Coast Guard in any war.

Each brick will have the name, unit, and war in which the soldier served. The cost is a donation of $50 per 4” X 8” brick. The proceeds will be used to purchase, engrave, and install the bricks and maintain the walkway.
