Be a part of the Blue Star/Gold Star Memorial located at the Lathrop Antique Showgrounds in Lathrop, MO. Join others who have already purchased bricks to be placed in this memorial. The Gold Star section honors those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The Blue Star sections of the star recognizes those individuals who are now serving and who have served in the armed forces of the United States. This memorial is a joint effort of the Lathrop Garden Club and the Lathrop Antique Car, Tractor, & Engine Association. This memorial, dedicated September 11, 2017, joins over 100 Blue Star Memorials in the state of the Missouri, but was the FIRST in Missouri combining the Gold Star and the Blue Star Memorial.
Bricks placed in the Star in memory or honor of armed force service members, are red and are available in 4”x8”, 8”x8”, or 12”x12” sizes depending upon the desired information to be provided. The service emblem may be added for an additional fee. Individuals who have not served in the armed forces are welcome, along with service organizations, to show their support for the memorial by the purchase of bricks. These bricks are brown in color, with clipart of choice, and will be placed in a pathway leading to the memorial.
