Building the Way

Almost 30 years ago, visionary members of our community came together with an ideal: to build a local Hospice to serve its citizens. Now as the only Richmond County based non-profit Hospice, we serve not only citizens of this county but also all the immediately surrounding counties. We serve a population of 227,000 and provide services to any qualifying person regardless of gender, age, religion, or ability to pay.
Last year we started building our Walk to Remember paths, which is a special place for memorializing or honoring our loved ones. It also provides a quiet, serene setting for meditation and prayer, and a peaceful solitude for those who need to commune with nature and reach a state of balance and tranquility. Our Walk to Remember includes a pergola, an “old farm porch” and a fresh water fountain. The culmination of this project will be our Veterans garden, including a Memorial Wall, with open access for all our communities to enjoy.
We are so pleased to offer you a unique opportunity to be a part of your “home town hospice” history by contributing to this project. A limited number of bricks can be purchased to honor a loved one, living or deceased. The brick will be engraved with your personalized message and bricks will be placed in three sections for you and others to enjoy: the walking path, fountain area and the Memorial Wall at the Veteran’s Garden.
Your donation will help in two ways: honor our Veterans and also benefit our community’s needier patients. All the funds collected from this project will go to our Benevolent Care Program, providing care, transportation, and medications for those who, for whatever reason, do not qualify to receive funds from Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurances. It will allow them to have a more dignified end-of-life experience, so they may live each day with peace, comfort, and dignity.
Three options to contribute to this program are available:

  • The Walking Path: donation per engraved brick (4x8) is $100.00.
  • The Fountain Area: donation per engraved brick (4x8) is $150.00.
(You will receive a replica tile to keep.)
  • The Veterans Wall: donation per engraved brick (4x8) is $200.00 or (8x8) for $250.00.
(You also receive a replica tile and a Certificate of Recognition for you to keep.)
