The Scio
Fairgrounds and Event Center project is an effort by Scio area residents to
acquire and develop a property close to the boundaries of the City of Scio for
the benefit of the community at large. As envisioned the project will
include a permanent site large enough to host the North West Championship
Sheepdog Trials, room for the Linn County Lamb and Wool Fair to grow and
expand, a new home for the Scio Historical Museum, a visitor’s center and
camping facilities with showers and public restrooms. The plans include a
livestock pavilion, learning center and venue for community events as well as a
skate park, playground and picnic area. The goal, of this self-sustaining
community facility, is to help our community preserve the historic values and
culture of Scio, while creating economic development opportunities within Scio
and the surrounding area.
By purchasing a brick through this website you will be supporting our
efforts. In addition, your brick will be prominently displayed in the
landscaping around the visitor’s center or on a pathway within the
fairgrounds. Your contribution will be used to procure, develop and enhance the fairgrounds. With your help, we can
make this dream a reality. Imagine what we can accomplish when we all work
together!
