Colonie Central High School and its student run iCare group are continuing the vision of John Lawler (Class of 2016) to add and expand its Hill of Heroes. His desire to develop a fitting tribute to military and first responders sparked and led to the construction of the Hill of Heroes in the spring of 2016. Recent additions include a retaining wall and seating area as well as a commemorative stone donated by the class of 1965 to honor its fallen classmates.
Now, the opportunity exists for members of the community to honor their loved ones by purchasing a commemorative stone paver to add to the existing memorial. These stones will be used to create a pathway, flanking both sides, leading visitors up to the memorial itself.
The stones, which can be purchased in three different sizes, can help you memorialize and celebrate loved ones, heroes within the community, and those who left an indelible mark on the community at large. For an additional cost, patrons can select images to be engraved on the stones for a more personal touch. All proceeds and profits help to support iCare and its yearly, charitable endeavors.
