5 Step Action Plan for Summer Brick Fundraising

The best way to keep the momentum going with your engraved brick or tile fundraiser is by having an action plan and keeping your eye on your fundraising goals.

Step 1:

Plan a Contest or Raffle For an Engraved Brick or Engraved Tile:

There are many ways to incorporate your brick fundraiser or engraved tile fundraiser with a contest or a raffle. Organizations we work with have successfully raffled off an engraved brick or engraved tile to donors. You can sell raffle tickets for $5 or more each. Set a date a few weeks out to give your donors enough time to participate in the raffle event. The raffle winner will be able to customize their engraved tile with their custom message and with a clip art or logo if you are offering the option.

If multiple people are collecting donations give them an incentive by holding a contest. The person who sells the most engraved bricks or engraved tiles in a given period will win a prize. Prizes can range from anything from dinner at a restaurant, a bicycle, IPad, TV or even a cruise or vacation package. Remember the bigger the prize the more likely contestants will want to win that prize and the larger your fundraising profits will be.

Step 2:

Utilize Fundraising Mailing Lists:

Send out a letter or newspaper mailer to your donors giving them an update on the progress of your fundraiser. You can also include an event calendar with upcoming events your organization is holding or local happenings. Summer means more people will have time off to take part in events. The great weather also gets people motivated to do outdoor activities.

Step 3:

Meet the Press:

Send out a press release piece to the local newspapers, magazines and TV stations. Let them know about your project and any events you will be holding. Did you just have your initial engraved brick or tile installation or are you holding a ribbon cutting ceremony soon? Invite the local media to cover the story. The more people know about your project the better the chances they will want to purchase an engraved brick or tile and be part of your project.

Step 4:

Summer Engraved Brick Sale:

Reduce the price of your engraved tiles or engraved bricks for a limited time and let everyone know about it. This will give your donors a sense of urgency. People that may be on the fence will be given that extra push to purchase a custom engraved brick or tile. And of course who doesn’t love getting a deal?

Step 5:

Plan your initial engraved brick installation for the fall if you’re in a cold weather climate:

Set up a firm deadline for ordering a 3-4 weeks before the initial installation. This will give you time to proofread all your orders, make arrangements for the installation and give Polar Engraving enough time to process and engrave your order, also consider your location as delivery times may vary.
