Tax Exemption Acknowledgement Letter for Your Brick Donors

Sending a thank you letter to donors is not only a nice way to thank your donors for contributing to your engraved brick or engraved tiles project. It is also a good way of helping your benefactors get a little tax relief.

In order for your donors to be able to claim a tax deduction for a contribution to a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, your donor will need written acknowledgment from the organization.

Donors may claim a deduction when more than $250.00 is made in a single contribution. Charitable organizations are required to provide a written disclosure to a donor who receives goods or services like engraved bricks in exchange for a single payment in excess of $75.

Letter to your donors your letter must include the following information.

1. Name of the Organization.

2. Tax-exempt Status Statement: Statement that the organization is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization and the EIN number of the organization.

3. Contribution Details Amount of Cash donation or a description of non-cash contribution

4. A statement that no goods or services were provided by the organization in return for the contribution if that was the case.

5. A description and good faith estimate of the value of goods or services, if any, that an organization provided in return for the contribution.

6. A statement that goods or services, if any, that an organization provided in return for the contribution consisted entirely of intangible religious benefits (described later in this publication) if that was the case.

7. Date of contribution.

You may want to reach out to your organization’s accountant to obtain exact wording for your letter to donors.
