Coleman, Texas
Operation Restoration
1928 American La France
Fire Truck
The City of Coleman and the Coleman Fire Department/Volunteer Fire Department are proud owners of the 1928 American La France Fire Truck. Operation Restoration was adopted by 4 High School students who want to help preserve the integrity of this incredible piece of equipment while allowing the public the opportunity to see it up close and personal.
Gus Allen, Denver Hunter, Emily Taylor and Carlie Tibbetts, students at Coleman High School are taking the lead to help the Coleman Volunteer Fire Department raise funds to build a metal structure that will house the fire truck and give people access to take pictures and see all the original equipment. An electronic display will tell the story of the history of the fire truck and growth of the fire department over the years.
Citizens, families, and businesses can help support Operation Restoration by purchasing bricks or pavers that will be used in the design of the project.
Please consider participating in this once in a lifetime opportunity to preserve history and tell the story of the 1928 American La France Fire Truck!
