Customized Memorial Tiles Fundraiser

The Eagle Oak Retreat is a privately funded wellness retreat, offering community support, holistic and posttraumatic growth opportunities for our combat veterans, first responders, and their families.

Located in rural Italy, Texas, surrounded by oak trees and beautiful horse pastures.
The retreat will be fully ADA-accessible and feature bunk houses, an Iron Kettle Dining Hall, a horticulture heroes garden, and a peaceful healing garden.

Fundraising efforts are actively underway, including the sale of memorial tiles to build a 10x10 seated wall in the Heroes and Healing Gardens. Each garden is 2,400 sq ft and will be centrally located between the buildings. We estimate each garden courtyard will have approximately 400 donation tiles to develop the seated wall. The memorial tiles will provide the veterans, first responders and their families an opportunity to commemorate their service as part of the grand seated wall in the center of each garden. A tile may be purchased by anyone in honor of or to express appreciation to the brave men and women for their service.

Each garden plays an instrumental role in the retreat’s post-traumatic growth programs

The Heroes Garden will serve as the setting for therapeutic horticulture, which involves tending to plants and vegetables. The atmosphere in the garden will provide a powerful reminder of the healing benefits of spending time in nature. In addition to the healing nature of the garden, it will also give guests an opportunity to experience the farm-to-table concept by partaking in the fresh herb and vegetable garden during their stay. We believe that eating healthy not only sustains the physical body, but it also sustains the mind, creating a critical path to wellness. The Healing Garden provides a tranquil-like setting suitable for self-reflection and journaling activities, enabling program participants to make peace with their past and to begin planning for their future.
