Join us in honoring the brave men and women who served our
city, state, and country by purchasing a commemorative brick. Remember a
loved one, express gratitude to a veteran colleague or classmate, or convey
appreciation to parents or siblings. Set their name in stone for years to
come. Whatever your reason, leave a permanent testament to their service.
Dedication of the West Memorial Cemetery American Legion Veterans Field of Honor was held on November 11, 2001. The City of Stephenville donated the plot, and Turnbow-Higgs Post 240 provided construction funding for the 2001 project, which included: Monument, Flag Pole, Electric Utility and Walkways through public donations and placing of Commemorative Bricks located on either side of Monument walkways.
Flag and flag pole maintenance and electric lighting utility
cost of the Field of Honor are continuous, and the responsibility of Post 240.
Public donations and placing of Commemorative Bricks to fund utility and
maintenance cost continues today.
For a minimum donation of $100, Post 240 will purchase and
install a Commemorative Brick inscribed with your information according to your
wording as shown on the second page of this order form. For Example: “In memory of
John Doe, US Army WWII, or “John and Mary Doe, Stephenville, Texas”.
Commemorative Bricks are not limited to military
veterans.
Persons wishing to honor a friend, neighbor, or family
member by placing a Commemorative Brick may do so by speaking to any Post 240 members.
Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 is continually
grateful to the City of Stephenville for their contribution of the space as
well as admirable care of the plot.
