Help Make Lake Luzerne Destination
Playground A Reality!
Play is a
fundamental aspect of child development, serving as a crucial medium through
which children learn, explore, and thrive. It is a key factor in child development,
with a child’s creativity and imagination finding new ways to grow at a
well-developed playground. The planned Lake Luzerne Destination Playground in
Butler Park was designed under the principles of Universal Design, including
providing a range of sensory engagement for flexible and equitable play.
Children of all abilities will be able to play with the design’s simple and
intuitive use and smart connectivity between the playground’s equipment and
spaces. Anticipated Project Budget: $220,800+

Great News: We’re
already half-way there!
In Summer 2024,
Lake Luzerne was an honored recipient of a $125,000 Adirondack Park Smart Growth
Grant to help fund the construction of the Destination Playground. Over the
next 9 months, the Destination Playground Project Steering Committee will be
conducting a grass-roots fundraising campaign to raise the remaining $95,800+
through additional crowdfunding, donations, grant opportunities, and community
partnerships.
